My wife and I spent 3 nights g at the Boardwalk Waterfront Cottage over Thyme on the Boardwalk. Our stay was wonderful. If there is a nicer place to stay in Seldovia I would be very surprised. From our arrival where Suzie shuttled our stuff from the dock to our reluctant departure our experience was perfect. The suite overlooks the tidal slough and the eagles gulls, swallows and ravens have been very entertaining from the perfectly sized little deck. The suite itself is beautiful post and beam construction and very well appointed. There is a kitchen with a stove/ oven, microwave and full size fridge for those inclined to cooking at home (but excellent seafood chowder and other delights are just a short walk away. The bathroom is large and has a very cool tiled shower. The bedroom is large and airy with an excellent king bed. The design was well thought out and is just right for a romantic getaway. To wake to the sound of the sea while cocooned in the fabulous king bed is exactly what the doctor ordered. It is perched on the old boardwalk in possible my favorite community in Alaska-Seldovia. There is much to see and do and everything is an easy walk from the suite. I intend to recommend this fabulous accommodation as often as I can and will for sure come back again.
We spent 3 weeks in Alaska celebrating our 30 year anniversary. We stayed in some really nice places during our time all over the Kenai Peninsula....none could compare to Thyme on The Boardwalk. Everything about it was perfect. The suite was just gorgeous, the view was spectacular, the eagles and sea otters were everywhere... and Suzie and Jerry were so accommodating. We fell madly in love with Seldovia. We will most certainly be back again and will make sure anyone we know that plans on going to Alaska must make this one of their stops. Definitely the nicest place in Seldovia.
We stayed there 4 nites June 16th-19th 2018 and everything was awesome. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, kitchen had everything for cooking. The location to see the tide come in and out was so amazing. Great place and great people. Suzie and her husband were so nice and loved their nursery and gift shop. Boy we sent home a bunch of stuff. Thanks to the local post office, sending gifts was not that expensive and made it home before we did. LOL We loved it and would stay there again.
My husband just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan and he wanted a nice "get-away" with me & our 3 little daughters (9 ,6 and 1/2).
This place was even more breathtaking in person!
My girls LOVED the loft in the suite. I loved being on top of the water! The king bed was so incredibly comfortable and the decor was so, so beautiful.
During the day, we enjoyed walking around the harbor spotting the many types of jellyfish ! The room has a very nice BEACHCOMBERS GUIDE that we used to identify a lot of our finds.
It was so peaceful having coffee on the porch in the morning listening to the birds and watching the eagles swoop around!
Seldovia is truly a hidden gem and this place is by far the best place we have ever stayed at in Alaska.
The store below, is incredibly fun as well! We live on JBER but we will be back very soon, I want to bring my mother & sisters to visit from AZ next summer!
